Metamorphic Mokume Class - April 13-14, 2024
April 13-14, 2024 - 10am-4pm Pacific Time
Tuition $295 + $80-$140 kit fee (+shipping, sold separately)
This class focuses on creating mokume gane patterned sheet by mimicking the geologic processes of metamorphosis - thoroughly updated in 2023 to include a section on creating the cherry blossom pattern! With hammers, stamps and other tools we will metamorphosize blank mokume gane sheet, revealing patterns as our files erode away the disturbed layers. Expect to create multiple samples that could be turned into finished jewelry pieces or box lids at a later date. Best for students who have taken at least one mokume gane class, or well-equipped and motivated beginners.
This online class is designed to work just like an in-person workshop, with demos, interactive presentations, and time to practice skills. We’ll be teaching via Zoom and you’re encouraged to work and ask questions along the way. We’ll finish each day with a group wrap up session. On the last day we’ll have our traditional raffle too! For the best experience, this class is limited to 15 students.
