Hand-crafted mokume gane metalwork.
New mokume gane classes for the new year - 2018 schedule is up!
Have a look at my workshops page to see which mokume gane class you'd like to take this year - from fusing to chiseling, you can learn it here.
At one with the chisel
I've been doing a lot more of my patterning using the most traditional Japanese way - the chisel. Read why and see fun in-process pics of this bracelet on my blog. -- Updated with finished image of this same style bracelet in 18k yellow gold and palladium.
Fun with rose gold and billet backgrounds.
Recently a ring client asked if I could make a pendant for his fiancée to match the ring he'd ordered for himself. I love making gold jewelry other than rings, but don't generally do it except through commission. I liked how this one came out! Read more.
Francesca Urciuoli News
It was great to see my former intern Francesca here as my guest artist for Friday Night Liberty last August. She was taking a break from her two-year Artist-in-Residency program in Birmingham, UK, to soak up some San Diego sunshine and show off her new jewelry creations. So nice to have her back in the studio even for just a little while. You can read more about Francesca's first time at Anneville Studio here.
Another new ring color combination
This summer I put to use all I've learned about precious metal mokume to create my new top-of-the-line combination - 18k yellow gold, 14k rose gold, palladium 500 and very very thin layers of silver. The silver is what allows the ring to be etched, but keeping it thin means the overall color is darker and richer, influenced by the deep gray of palladium 500. This lets the yellow and rose gold really pop. Love that! What's it called? Well, for now I'm calling it the A&A special, and if you know me you know why! Although it isn't listed as an option on my rings page yet, if you like the look of these just ask, I'd be happy to give you a quote.
Anne was so wonderful to work with for my fiancé's wedding ring! She answered all of our questions during the process and above all, the ring is gorgeous, beautiful, unique and perfect! Thank you, Anne. You have created an heirloom we will treasure for a long time.
