Anneville is located in the Liberty Station area of San Diego. Liberty Station began life as a military training center, so you'll sometimes see it referred to as NTC (Naval Training Center). Nowadays, Liberty Station is an arts destination and makes for a wonderfully convenient workshop location. We are only 2 miles from the airport so it’s a short Lyft or taxi ride or a 40 minute, rolling luggage-friendly walk. There are at least 5 hotels and motels less than a mile from Annevile, and many restaurants and shops too.

A Few Miles Away
Old Town is an historic California State Park located just 2 miles from Anneville. It is touristy but features some of San Diego's oldest buildings and you’ll find many good lodging options there from $100-$200. You’ll also find great food choices (margaritas!), the best souvenir shopping in town, and the main depot for San Diego's premier sightseeing bus (the open-air orange & green Old Town Trolley Tours. There is also a station for the red San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) rail trolley with service to downtown and the Mexican border. Old Town is a great option if you are bringing a family member who’ll be sightseeing during the day.
Stay at the Beach
The closest beach to Anneville is called Ocean Beach, or simply OB to locals. Accommodations there range from super-funky to high-end with interesting AirBnB options. A step up from OB is Pacific Beach (called PB locally) where you can ride a historic roller coaster or bike a classic California boardwalk (let's get fish tacos!). The "fancy" beach area is La Jolla, about 30 minutes north up the coast. It's famous for the spectacular La Jolla Cove with its sea caves, wildlife and kayaking. You can also peruse the latest Ferraris along the world-famous super-ritzi shopping district. OB is the most practical as it's only a few miles from Anneville while PB and La Jolla are 20-30 minutes away and would require a rental car.
