Anneville Jewelry Lab is a jewelry/metals teaching classroom and co-work space in San Diego. We offer multi-week classes, visiting artist workshops, hourly bench rental, and co-work space memberships. From time to time we may have openings in the following categories:
Apply to be a Teacher Teachers plan, promote and conduct jewelry/metals classes and workshops at Anneville on an on-going basis in exchange for a percentage of the class fees (exact split by arrangement). We currently looking for evening class instructors. We are looking for teachers with top-notch bench skills who teach various subjects and levels with an emphasis on creativity and craftsmanship. Online class listings, registration, foundational marketing and payment are handled by Anneville. At this time, Teachers handle their own classes' material kits and kit fees. Those interested in applying should have extensive jewelry/metals knowledge and experience consistent with 5+ years in the field (prior teaching experience preferred but not mandatory). Anneville’s current tools/equipment include a Pepe combo rolling mill, Durston 12” shears, vises, hammers, acetylene/air torches, anvils, forming equipment, hand tools, flexshafts, drill press. A kiln, Durston double mill, bandsaw, belt sander and deep-draw Mark III press are nearby - possibly available by special arrangement. Teaching space accommodates 6-7 students.
Apply to be a Visiting Artist Visiting Artists plan, promote and conduct jewelry/metals classes and workshops at Anneville in exchange for a percentage of the class fees (exact split and class minimums by arrangement). Online class listings, registration, foundational marketing and payment are handled by Anneville. We generally schedule 2-3 visiting artists per year, and like to plan about 8 months in advance. We are looking for jewelry and metalwork artists that have attained mastery in a particular aspect of the field and wish to share their expertise with students of all levels. Workshops can be 1-5 days in length, normally 9am-4pm each day. For visiting artists the class maximum is usually 10. There will be a representative from Anneville present throughout your workshop. Those interested in applying should have extensive jewelry/metals knowledge and teaching experience, with in-depth expertise in the subject area of the workshop. Anneville’s current tools/equipment for visiting artist workshops include include two rolling mills, Durston 12” shears, vises, hammers, acetylene/air torches, anvils, forming equipment, hand tools, flexshafts, drill press, kiln, bandsaw, belt sander and 20-ton deep-draw press.
