Spring class schedule up at West City - classes start February 3 and 6 WCCPL (West City Campus, Point Loma) is a top-notch jewelry/metals lab only about a mile away from Anneville Studio. With a class maximum of 20 and a large room full of professional equipment, it is a vibrant and social place to learn. Registration for these classes is through the school, not me! Just follow the links to register: Jewelry and Metalworking - Advanced Mondays, 9am-1pm, February 6 - May 22 (holidays - Feb 20 and March 27) cost $412 - that's under $30 for each 4 hour class - best deal in town! For our first project we will delve into the mysteries of using liver of sulphur patina on silver while creating a pair of earrings and a ring with soldered disc centerpiece. Rather than just black, we'll be using special techniques to get and keep amazing blues, magentas and gold colors. Next, we'll learn photo-etching and create a layered mullti-color brooch with our etched metal. Lastly, we'll make another ring - but this time with a carved shank and a central stone. Students new to me are welcome, but you should have basic jewelry/metalworking skills (soldering, sawing, filing, some forming). Register. Jewelry and Metalworking - Beginning to Advanced Mondays, 2-5pm, February 6 - May 22 (holidays - Feb 20 and March 27) - cost $314 Learn the basics or expand your skills while creating three projects. We'll start by creating a unique cuff bracelet from copper, move on to make a photo-etched pendant, and finish with a silver ring with stone. Beginners are welcome - you'll receive lots of how-to handouts and instructions on purchasing a beginner toolkit on the first day of class. Register. Friday Jewelry Fabrication Lab

Really enjoyed teaching this past fall - I had an advanced class and a lab class, with folks working on so many different types of jewelry and metalwork projects. I love the excitement and challenge of helping each student make their unique design a reality. Kudos to all the student work pictured below: Karen R.'s neckpiece, Alyssa's stone pendant, Mary's bees, Susan's tree, Janet's tube-set earrings (representative of 10+ folks who followed through on the project and also made simliar earrings) and Karla's elegant copper earrings. Keep up the good work!
