As I was making my rings over the busy summer season, I'd been thinking about how to incorporate some of the gold mokume into other jewelry forms - bracelets, pendants, etc. Not everyone is shopping for mokume wedding rings! But, I needed some designs that made good visual use of a small amount of gold, so I could keep the jewelry affordable. Here's a peek of what I came up with. Each gold mokume piece is patterned individually, some are etched, then they are riveted to a base of hand-hammered sterling silver. You'll find these first four pieces for sale at my next open studio and at our holiday walkabout. And as soon as I get to it, they'll be on my etsy site too! Hope to be making more of them soon ....
