Clearing up and going through some boxes of my older work, I happened upon over 2 dozen old friends from my ceramic days. Salt fire, saggar fire, majolica, cone 10 crystalline, reduction copper reds, and even some raku. It was great to see them and re-visit old memories of my time in undergrad at SDSU with Joanne Hayakawa and Richard Burkett. I was the lab tech for the ceramics department there for 2 years, loading and firing all types of kilns, mixing up glazes, and doing my own glaze experiments on my typical small (mostly porcelain) vases and bowls. Many of these pieces were sold at the twice-yearly SDSU craft sales, but somehow a few escaped, hidden in boxes for 20+ years. It is time for these 'lost' pieces to go out and make their own way in the world! Stop by my next Friday Night Liberty if you'd like to own a very reasonably priced 'vintage' ceramics piece by yours truly. Get 'em while they're here, because when they're gone they're gone! Circa 1991-93 - wow I'm old!

Gosh, I love that dull brown and moss green one right in the center. When is the next Friday Night Liberty?

Tomorrow, Friday June 2nd - 5-9pm. Would love to see you there. I expect there will still be some of the ceramics left for the July date too, but shop early for best selection! :-)
