We're pretty darned excited to be sending off our very first official advertising buy! It's with Metalsmith Magazine and will be appearing in an upcoming edition. The top left photo was taken at Anneville Jewelry Lab back in March and features talented young metalsmith Lincoln Hatfield learning uchidashi from Ford Hallam. The second photo shows Anne marveling at student Yoko Rover's uchidashi gourd during Ford Hallam's class. From there we showcased the work of three of our instructors. The first image is of Anne's 18k gold "Butterfly" mokume gane ring which was a special commission for Hiroko Sato-Pijanowski. Next is Bette Barnett's stunning "Discovery" ring featuring her signature steel & gold work with a gorgeous boulder opal. The next piece is a copper/brass/sterling silver mokume gane box by Anne Wolf and the last photo is Ford Hallam's exquisite tiger tsuba with its minute gold and shakudo inlays. The photo curating for this project was brutal - we really wanted to include something from each of our fabulous instructors and some from our students! We ended up with dozens more images so we'll be using those in upcoming ads, postcards and other items. In the meantime, check out our a quarter page ad in the upcoming Metalsmith Magazine and our web banner online at snagmetalsmith.org. We'd love to know what you think of either piece in the comments below!
